January 20, 2007 Well, I just had an interesting experience from The TARDIS Rebuilders homepage. I never realized that many people find my page of great reference for building their police boxes. My ego is boosted just a bit here.  Anyway, I have added some links as a result, so check them out. To be quite honest, I really have nothing more to add unless someone has problems when building their box. Personally, I know that I still do not have the flashing light figured out, but that will just have to wait until a revelation of some sort comes up with the answer of how I can do that. I have answered and responded to a few e-mails on building a TARDIS. Some people do not realize that I have blue print on the projects page which they should check at the outer most frame of this page. Also, I do have "real" measurements for the TARDIS out of the Doctor Who Technical Manual, but I really am refraining from scanning and e-mailing this content for copyright reasons. If there are any questions that you feel you need answers for, do not hesitate to e-mail me. I do not check everyday, but I do check every once and a while. March 22, 2003 If building a Police Box or TARDIS could be a religion. Wait. Maybe for the circle of people I have found, it is?!?. Nah... Well, I dug up some updates that I always had, but never posted until now. I have the stack of the roof broken down into 3 levels. Additionally, I had to update the other two diagrams in order to be able to associate the main blueprint with the other diagrams. Take a look at blueprints for the updates. March 15, 2003 After close to a year, I am trying to update the documents. I have nice 3.1M-Pixel camera, so some illustrations will be better. Please take a look at project for the updates. Updated sections will have the latest date of update in each. 
February 8, 2003 Apparently, I am seeing that a few people have interests in my page. I also notice my counter provider is gone. This is a page that I have been neglecting for a little while. I am going to try and revisit some details and finish the last basics which will include the beacon. Please let me know any specific details that you may wish for me to elaborate on and I will see if I can document it on the web-site. July 29, 2002 I trying to create blue-prints for my design. You can find them at the project page. I have only created a front view. I am working on 3 tops views. As I create the blue-prints, I will update the date. July 21, 2002 Refined measurements at project. I decided to change notations for 1" x 3" x 4" to 1 x 3 x 4". This notation means that a (1 x 3) that is 4" long is used. The literal measurement is 3/4" x 2-1/2" x 4" piece of wood is used. I figured this notation of measurement would give less confusion when measureing and cutting pieces. to used my design, I thought I would put my latest changes in.April 13, 2002 Where I am so far. Please take note that the picture was taken with a flash in the dark and has a yellow film to the image. 
April 11, 2002 And more updates at project. April 10, 2002 More updates at project page! April 5, 2002 Update! I revamped the project page which I probably should name blue-print. The page has some of the details for building the box. I have the cutout, walls, and doors section pretty much done. I still need to double check my measurements and ensure that I am not going to literally screw anyone over when they try and build with my measurements. Anyway, take a glance and let me know if it makes sense. If something seems vague, I will rewrite it so that it is clearer. March 23, 2002 No. I have not abandon the project. Are you kidding? My eyes have been going color-blind on trying to find the right color.Anyway, I have determined that there are two colors that I am inherently seeing when I see the box. One of the main problems is in regards to lighting (ie what you see on paper is not what you see in real life). Through the head-ache of going through about 6 different pints of paint that I was led to believe were correct, I found that a combination of two produced the "close" desired result I was seeking. Yes. I am not completely satisfied (and they say men can't figure out women -- guess I threw that out the window). The issues I was trying to resolve is that the London Police Box is dark blue and the TARDIS color is light blue. There are variations of dark gray to light gray with even a green toned version of the box. If this is not enough to give a person a head-ache on what color looks right when they are done, I do not know what is. The colors are Mediterranean Blue from Glidden with Satin sheen (30BB 08/188) and the other was mixed at a local store using Egg-shell sheen (1-Yellow, 2Y7-Blue,KX-White,R-24.5). I will try doing a color match from Walmart when I am done so that a more widely available reading from a common store can be used. Well, I suppose a picture of where I am at would help. Here it is. 
Note that the color is a brighter blue than the photograph. It really bugs me how even a photograph does not even show the right color *sigh*. Also, I have pictures of where I was as I was painting it and I will post those pics as soon as I have time. Anyway, you can see I have the windows done. Also, I have estimates for the printing of the call panel and POLICEBOX titles from a printer (about $21 with the call panel being the expensive part - $9). Stenciling was an option, but never seemed to come out very good when I did it and the Call panel would of been a pain to stencil. After I am done with this, the IC-555 with resistors on a bread board will need to be done next to creating the fading-flashing-white light When I am done with the project, I will have blue-prints (which I have some drawn right now) which will show you the details of my efforts to create the box. The images that currently have for building the box will be used simply as eye-candy for the builder. Anyway, let me know what you think! January 17, 2002 A few updates to my page. Mostly links. Also, I recalculated some of the costs and the lumber was only $80. If you add in the hinges, screws, handles, light and so forth, it will probably end up at $150 which is what I mentioned earlier. Also, I have looked at a lot of scale models that people have done of the TARDIS and I think I am the first one to do a 1/2 size version. January 16, 2002 I added a link above for supplies. I also started cleaning the project section also. I have laid out the beacon on the TARDIS and now I am stuck on the windows. I am trying to find the simplest solution without having to use the bass wood at hobby shops in order to meet my measurements. As soon as I have this figured out, I will post my findings. January 14, 2002 Added a little more information on the building efforts, but I have been busy. Please be patient and I will have the information up within the month (hopefully -- yes, I know I said 'days' in the last posting). I was corrected by Peter of 'The Police Box Website' that the "beacon" I refer to on my page is a " lamp fitting that is known in the trade as a 'bell jar lamp' or 'jam jar lamp'". I never knew this, but please excuse me if I just call it a 'beacon' (easier to type). January 11, 2002 I thought people would find it interesting on how I built/building my TARDIS. I plan on providing detail information on the lumber I used as well as the cost it took to build one. So far, I think the cost is around $150 US dollars just for the lumber, but I need to tabulate all my receipts to make sure. The TARDIS is 4 1/2 feet tall. My initiative was to build it at minimal cost if possible. Anyway, please let me know what you think. For now, I am throwing some snap-shots and starting information at the project link at the top. As soon as I have a little more time, I will try and put all the information about the project over the next days (hopefully).
